Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her highly laudable performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The actress has received numerous awards for her work, including an Oscar. She began her career as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. She has always had an interest in acting from the time she was in school. The first time she appeared in a show in the fifth grade was as Helen Keller. She became deaf in one ear due to mumps but did not allow this handicap to hinder her desire to be an actor. She was a drama major at the college after which she moved to Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her dream. Hunter was stuck in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. After she was settled in Los Angeles, she began looking for roles in films. The role she was offered came in the role of an actress playing the main character in Swing Shift. Over the past three decades Holly Hunter has been on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also her Women in Film Lucy Award.
