Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards, including the Oscar for her role in the film Piano. The successful actress began her career in acting in the theatre through a variety of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. From her early years, she has been passionate in the field of acting. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. The actress was deaf in one ear following a bout of Mumps, but she didn't permit this to deter her desire to be an actress. At college, she was a theatre student and later moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in an lift. Together they composed Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The play was Hunter's first acting debut. Her first role in film came following her move from Los Angeles. She has since appeared in a variety of TV movies and series throughout a span of over three decades. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
